F. Gary Gray, Ice Cube, and ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Cast On The Whoolywood Shuffle

The Whoolywood Shuffle was taken over by F. Gary Gray, Ice Cube, and the cast of Straight Outta Compton after the movie released. The cast spoke about the stress that comes with playing music legends. The director F. Gary Gray turned down a directing position for Captain America in order to direct the N.W.A. biopic.

While on the show they explained how they were ready to walk if creative control wasn’t given to them. Ice Cube said, “We were always, if they trip, we’re looking for the exit. If they don’t do it how we need it done, we’re looking for the exit. They want to make some Hollywood bullshit, we’re looking for the exit.”

They talked about Tupac and Snoop Dogg appearing in the movie. Nipsey Hustle wanted to play the role of Snoop Dogg in the movie but wanted to avoid being confused with a wannabe Snoop.

Ice Cube talked on police brutality and how it is reflected in the movie as well as how it relates to the present. N.W.A. wrote about the reality they saw around themselves and the scene hasn’t changed all that much.
